When the ring isn't enough, find it on a map.

Text your secret location word to your own phone. It SMS-replies a private map link and starts sharing its position - every 20 seconds, on a real map, with battery and accuracy. If it has no internet, you still get a Google Maps coordinate by SMS.

Why this exists

Because "ring it" only helps when it's nearby.

The base FindMyPhoneSMS rings your phone full-volume when you text a secret word. Great when you left it on the couch. But when it's really gone - in a taxi, at the gym, on a different street - you need a map. Find on map is exactly that, built on the same SMS-trigger you already trust. No accounts, no cloud-by-default tracking, owner-only.

What you get

Built for actually finding it.

📍

Live map by SMS link

Your phone texts you a private findmyphonesms.com/track/<token> link. Open it on any browser and watch the dot move every 20 seconds, with accuracy and battery.

📡

Works with no internet, too

GPS works offline. If your phone has no data, you still get a Google Maps SMS with its exact coordinates - tap and it opens in Maps.

🔊

Ring it from the web

A Ring button on the map page makes the phone alarm at full volume instantly (via push). The same as the original SMS ring trigger - one tap from the browser.

🧭

One-tap directions

A Navigate button hands the phone's coordinates straight to Google Maps directions - drive, walk or cycle to it.

🛡

Stop only by passing the lock screen

A thief can't silence the tracking. The "Found" action requires the device's PIN, pattern or biometric to stop the session.

🔁

Survives reboots and SIM swaps

If the phone restarts or a new SIM is inserted, tracking resumes automatically and texts you a fresh Maps link - using whichever SIM is in.

How it works

Three steps, then forget it.

Install Pro

Download the Pro app, install over your existing FindMyPhoneSMS (same key, your data is kept). Grant location "Allow all the time" and SMS - one-time setup.

Pick a secret location word

Different from your ring word. Only you know it. Saved encrypted on your phone, never sent to us.

If you ever lose it

Text the word from any phone. You get back a map link (and a Google Maps SMS if it's offline). Open the link to track and ring it; mark "Found" when you have it back.

Privacy by design

Nothing tracked unless you ask, and only briefly.

Find on map stays off until you set it up and consent. Tracking only runs while a session is active. The map link is protected by an unguessable token and goes only to the number that texted the word. Location data is auto-deleted within 24 hours. Using it on a phone that isn't yours is prohibited by our Terms.

FAQ

Honest answers.

Do I need internet on the lost phone?

For the live map, yes. For the SMS-based Google Maps link, no - GPS works offline, and the link goes out by SMS using your existing cell signal.

What if the location toggle is off on my phone?

The app reports the last known position with a timestamp and a "location is off" note, then keeps retrying. Android doesn't let any app force the toggle on (anti-stalkerware) - by design.

How do I stop the tracking?

Two ways: tap "I found it" on the map page (with a confirm), or open the app on the phone and pass the lock screen. Either stops the session and clears the data.

What if a thief reboots the phone or swaps the SIM?

Tracking resumes after boot and texts you a fresh Google Maps link - sent from whichever SIM is now in the phone. That gives you a heads-up on the SIM swap too.

I already paid for FindMyPhoneSMS - do I pay full price?

No. Upgrade in the app for only the difference (currently $2.50). Your existing license stays valid for the base ring feature.
